Praying as a Family

We parents are the first teachers of our children in so many areas of their lives, especially faith. Prayer is not so much taught as practiced. When we intentionally cultivate good practices of prayer in our family's life, our children grow up knowing how to talk to and listen for God. For a short but rich article on family prayer, click here.

The Star of Bethlehem

We read in the Scriptures that the Magi, the Wise Men, followed a star to find Jesus in Bethlehem. Watch this short video, featuring the director of the Vatican Observatory, to learn more about that wonderful,  mysterious star.

Bring Your Gifts

At our January Faith Formation sessions, we talked about the gifts that we can bring to Jesus, a little bit like the Magi brought gifts over 2,000 years ago. Here is an article from Parents magazine about volunteering as a family. It highlights simple ways that families with even the youngest children can become involved in their communities, fostering a lifetime habit of service to others.
